Fundamentals of Music Theory for Singers
now enrolling for January 2026
Imagine opening a piece of sheet music and, instead of feeling overwhelmed
by all the dots, lines, and markings, you actually understand what you’re looking at.
You recognize the key signature, you see how the rhythm is structured, you know why the melody moves the way it does, and you can interpret the dynamics and phrasing with confidence.
That kind of music literacy isn’t reserved for people with formal training.
You can learn to read the page with clarity, and it starts here.
Understand the notes,
Sing with confidence
A 4-week online mini-course that teaches singers how to interpret written music (rhythms, key signatures, dynamics, and expressive markings) so you can approach new repertoire independently and musically.
Perfect for choral singers, students,
and anyone who has ever wanted to learn to read sheet music
About This Course
This 4-week, live online course is designed specifically for singers who want to read the notes on the page. We’ll decode notation, explore what composers mean by dynamics and phrasing, and build practical strategies so you can interpret a score before you sing a single note. Small group size ensures personal feedback and a supportive learning environment.
4 weekly live sessions, 1 hour each (recordings provided).
10 students per cohort.

Meet the Instructor
Hi! I’m Elizabeth, a professional singer and music educator based in New York City, where I balance an active performing career with a thriving online teaching studio. I’m passionate about helping singers build the skills and confidence they need to express themselves fully, whether they’re absolute beginners or seasoned performers looking to grow.
As a professional classical singer, I’ve performed in a wide range of operatic and choral projects, and those stage experiences directly shape the way I teach. I love showing students how solid technique, clear musicianship, and authentic storytelling all work together to create expressive, meaningful singing.
I’ve been teaching for nearly a decade and have spent the past five years specializing in online music education, teaching voice, piano, music theory, and sight-singing to students around the world. My teaching style is warm, supportive, and practical and always focused on giving you tools you can use right away.
Music has an incredible way of connecting people and sparking creativity, and I’m excited to help you build the skills that will support your music-making for years to come.
